Hi, I’m Mantha. I’m a book enthusiast, dog lover, and editor for academic, business, and indie authors.
I bring a wealth of experience, education, focus, passion, and enthusiasm to every project.
Clear communication is the foundation of my editorial approach.
I believe in building great relationships so we can develop practical and imaginative solutions for your specific editing needs.
With over ten years of experience working in the entertainment and aerospace industries, I specialize in writing and editing for business, computer science, cyberspace, networking, digital forensics, privacy, protecting business intelligence, and other technical projects.
I’m expanding into manuscript and short story editing.
I’ve been obsessed with books ever since I can remember. My grandmother owned a bookstore, and I visited often. She gifted me with all the classics. In college, I worked in a bookstore, sharing my love of books with the customers. I loved reviewing books and now editing them.
I spend my work days reading, editing, and drinking tea. But I don’t have just one reading spot. I have to switch it up. I read outside, in bed, in my comfy chair, or on the sofa. As for the editing part, that is all business and happens in my office.
And no matter where I work, my dog follows.
With me as your developmental editor, we will collaborate on a sweeping edit to enhance your voice and shape your writing to be captivating, readable, and polished.
We will start with the macroedits of character, stakes, and plot.
Next, we will delve into the microedits of suspense and tension, point of view, showing versus telling, structure, momentum, pace, and voice.
With line editing, I will help you declutter your prose by finding and editing unnecessary filler words, unneeded explanations and modifiers, redundancy, and telegraphing.
Together, we will streamline your writing until your voice shines.
When assessing or creating book proposals, I can help you create a proposal an editor will read.
With proper content and formatting, we can turn your ideas into fully formed outlines that get noticed.
Checking for errors is the next step to completing your project. I will inspect for mistakes in grammar, punctuation, word usage, parts of speech agreement, and more.
